BIG IDEAS FOR SMALL BRANDS

A short explanation of branding and why everyone needs it

Sometimes design jargon can get a little confusing; How is a logo different from a brandmark and what the hell is branding anyway? This page will hopefully help explain.

BRANDING? I JUST NEED A LOGO/WEBSITE…

No-one just has a logo these days, they have a brandmark. But what does that mean? What exactly is the difference? What is branding and why is it so important?

It used to be that when you started a business, you picked a name and found a graphic designer to make you a nice looking logo that you could put on a business card. Soon the world was full of beautiful logos and it was hard to work out where to look. Then the internet arrived and customers became even more knowledgable and discerning. They wanted to know what the companies that sold them stuff stood for. Everyone wanted meaning and connection.

Branding is the heart and soul of your business; it’s personality, the way it looks and feels, how it talks, behaves and perhaps, how it smells. Of course branding includes a logo, business cards, a website, posters, and anything else that might be needed, but it is as much about tone of voice as it is look and feel. If a brand doesn’t engage it’s audience they won’t pay it any attention, and that means that they won’t remember it.

So the question is, do you still need a logo and a website or are you ready to talk about what makes your business different to everybody else’s? Are you ready to find out how to capture people’s imaginations and make them remember you? If so click the link below or call us on 0794 103 4592
